Open Letter to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee

CC: Verizon Audit Committee, US DOL, US DOJ, Media

Judgeship nominee Thomas Farr's law firm continues to illegally put tremendous pressure on Kavitha Ranganathan and others to commit perjury. They can NOT tell the truth and support the companies flagrantly false claims of no pirated software ever in the company. Any reasonable person clearly understands that as long as this mockery of justice continues, these potential witnesses are under tremendous pressure to commit perjury.

Rick Cassidy has verified to me on the phone as recent as last week that he has never been provided anything he could show federal marshals to prove ownership, during relevant time frames, of the software he has for many years knowingly, but unwillingly, been involved with loading for his department, and was used to create the software used in his department, with absolute knowledge that Dave Vermilyea on numerous occasions told us flat out that at least some was stolen and all very very questionable. Dave Vermilyea constantly complained for years about very questionable ownership of Oracle. MapInfo has multiple times confirmed that they have no record of purchase until May of 2004, and a 90 day verbal agreement starting in November of 2003, but I have several emails in court that clearly show I started objecting to MapInfo in September of 2003.

I was fired just two days after the company refused to give me discovery, verification of ownership that would have been available to provide armed federal marshals had we been subjected to a software raid. My illegal termination letter very clearly stated the reason as "prognosis of my doctor". The prognosis of my doctor was that I was being required to commit felonies as a condition of employment.

Please use common sense and realize that every day that goes by where the United States Senate Judiciary Committee continues to consider for a federal bench a lawyer whose firm pressures potential witnesses to commit perjury as part of a criminal cover up absolutely dissuades reasonable workers from complaining in the first place. The RR v White United States Supreme Court ruling in June of 2006 clearly shows that it is illegal for the United States Judiciary Committee or the Verizon Audit Committee to dissuade reasonable workers from complaining in the first place.

Please do the right thing because it is the right thing to do, ask Thomas Farr as part of his nomination process why his law firm refuses to advice the company to provide Rick Cassidy verification of ownership, during relevant time frame, so that Rick Cassidy will no longer be subject to possible imprisonment for not being able to prove this verification of ownership to armed federal marshals.
